Betaawork Launch Introduces a New Platform for Skills and Opportunity

A new digital platform designed to connect skilled professionals with employment and enterprise opportunities has officially been launched. Betaawork an initiative of Genius Hub was unveiled during a two-day launch event held on March 12th and 13th, 2026, at the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy Benin City.

The event brought together development partners, government representatives, industry experts, dignitaries, corps members and young professionals to explore innovative solutions for bridging the gap between skills development and access to opportunities.

Connecting Skills to Opportunity

Betaawork was developed to address a key challenge faced by many professionals the gap between acquiring skills and accessing opportunities.

Through the platform, skilled individuals can showcase their expertise, connect with businesses and clients, and access opportunities within their proximity through a trusted digital ecosystem.

Keynote Insights

Delivering the Day One keynote address, Amarachi Kalu the Nigeria Country Lead for the Challenge Funds for Youth Empowerment (CFYE), emphasized that with millions of young Nigerians entering the workforce each year, innovative platforms such as Betaawork are essential for linking skills to real employment opportunities.

The Day Two keynote address by Hon. Lucky Agazuma the Director General Edo State Migration Agency (EDMA), also highlighted the platform’s role in promoting safer employment pathways. He noted that Betaawork’s verification feature can help create trusted connections between employers and professionals while supporting efforts to reduce irregular migration.

Industry Perspectives

Industry experts also shared insights during a panel session featuring Barr. Onome Goodness Briggs the Executive Chairman Edo State Board for Technical, Vocational, Education and Training (TVET), Dr. Frances Ben-Ushie Ifeoma Edo State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Isimeme Whyte General Managing Director (GMD)/ Founder Genius Hub Limited, Simeon Nofa Managing Director BIU-Energy, Rhone Peters CEO Flo Mullins Nigeria Limited, Joel Uhunnoma Edionwe, David Diekedie Zonal Director National Board for Technology Icubation (NNTI) South-South Zone, Fidelis Imiebiakhe COO Genius Hub Limited, Gabriel representing Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and  Okpaibhele Obehi CEO Genius Hub Limited.

The discussion highlighted the growing importance of practical skills, emerging technologies, and cross-sector collaboration in building a stronger and more inclusive workforce.

A key highlight of the event was a live product demonstration session where participants explored the platform’s features and gained hands-on experience with its onboarding process.

Participants described the platform as trans-formative, noting that it allows professionals to showcase their services, connect with potential clients, and even offer training opportunities within the digital ecosystem.

Founder’s Vision

During the launch, Isimeme Whyte the founder of Betaawork  emphasized that the platform was created to address a major challenge facing young professionals: the gap between skills acquisition and access to opportunities. The founder noted that while many young people are learning valuable skills, they often lack the networks and platforms needed to translate those skills into sustainable livelihoods.

The launch reinforced a key message echoed throughout the event: “young people do not just need skills they need pathways”.
